Color Study

BLUE

I wandered all around Rexburg, Idaho in search for the color blue. I found it everywhere. For all my shots I used a normal shutter speed. For Blue Barrel and Blue Rope I used a cloudy light setting, I really love how those two shots turned out. Pepsi Blue was fun to shoot, I trying to capture the blue light reflected off the ice. I had difficulty trying to get a good angle on the Blue Store Front to capture all the blues it had. Overall, I tried close-up and far-away shots, and tried to divide my frames up according to the golden mean. This is the first time I have ever done photography. Let me know what you think!

  1. I tried to do a picture of a rope, but it didn’t go so well. I think that’s my favorite of the pictures because it has a lot of interesting textures, almost as if it tells a story of where it’s been used.

  2. I really like your rope picture. I think it flows really nicely; that is my favorite of all your pictures! I also like how you captured the light on the Pepsi machine, that is a really good night shot. These are all really good, especially for your first time!

  3. I like the dull shade of blue on the rope. I also like how you captured the integrity of the rope by being so close.

  4. I also like how you found the blue in the windows to compliment the ice machine.

  5. Love the pepsi machine. Like the variety of subjects you had. I also like the angle and lines seen in your last photo.
